Speaker of the House and West Chester resident John Boehner surprised local students this week when he stopped by a meeting of the Youth In Philanthropy (YIP) advisory board of The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty.
During the board’s monthly meeting, Boehner hosted a 40-minute question and answer session, where students inquired about the upcoming election and how the Speaker got involved in politics.
YIP member Ian Blomquist described the experience as “very personal and memorable. One that will never be forgotten.”
Furthermore, YIP advisory board member Brian Fogel was able to ask questions to include in a story he is writing for Lakota East’s Spark Magazine.
“To have met the Speaker of the House was just outstanding” said Fogel.
