Jennifer Edwards Baker reports:
A man was hurt when he jumped from a second story window to escape a small fire at his Liberty Township home late Wednesday, fire officials said.
Fire crews rescued the man’s wife, who was hanging out the window when they arrived about 11:30 p.m. at 7126 Tarragon Ct.,said Fire Chief Paul Stumpf.
They brought her down on a ladder, but she still suffered smoke inhalation.
“They were both lucky to escape. It is miraculous,” the chief said.
The couple went to West Chester Hospital, where they are expected to recover, he said.
The cause of the small blaze, which began on the second floor, remains under investigation.
Damage was set at $2,500.
