Mike Dyer reports:
Former Lakota West running back Mikel Horton scored on a 13-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter of the third annual Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Carson, Calif., on Sunday night.
Horton scored in the second quarter for the East squad. Lakota West coach Larry Cox and St. Xavier coach Steve Specht were assistant coaches for the East squad.
“It was a great experience,” Cox said. “I got to meet real-life heroes. The Marines were fantastic. It was a fun week.”
Horton enrolled early at the University of Kentucky and will begin classes in Lexington next week.
