Thomas Boat, dean of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and vice president for health affairs, will replace previously scheduled speaker Santa Jeremy Ono at this month’s West Chester ▪ Liberty Chamber Alliance’s luncheon on Tuesday.
Ono, who began serving as UC’s president after Greg Williams’ sudden resignation Aug. 21, was originally scheduled to be the speaker but canceled to participate in meetings in Columbus that day, according to Boat.
Boat became the 49th dean in the medical college’s nearly 200-year history on July 1, 2011.
“I am very happy to participate in the Sept. 11th West Chester ▪ Liberty Chamber Alliance luncheon to discuss the unique and significant role that the University of Cincinnati in general and, specifically, its College of Medicine plays in our region’s health,” Boat said. “The West Chester and Liberty Townships area is a vibrant, important community and is home to UC Health’s University Pointe medical campus.”
The Luncheon will also feature the West Chester and Liberty Township fire departments cooking and serving at the Chamber’s traditional “Chili Luncheon.”
The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at Wetherington Golf and Country Club in West Chester. Reservations can be made online at www.TheChamberAlliance.com or by calling 513-777-3600. The cost to attend is $27 for members and $50 for guests.
