West Chester/Liberty Chamber Alliance announce 2013 slate of officers

A slate of officers and new board member for 2013 has been selected by the West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance’s board of directors.

Members will vote on the slate during the chamber’s Nov. 13 luncheon meeting at the Wingate by Wynham, 7500 Tyles Place in West Chester Township.

Officers who are being recommended for a term that begins Jan. 1 are:

  • Karen Mueller, of HORAN, chairman
  • Ron Rohlfing, West Chester Hospital,vice-chairman
  • Deborah Brenneman, Thompson Hine LLP, secretary

Dina Minneci, Liberty Township’s administrator is being recommended for a three-year term on the board that also begins Jan. 1.

The luncheon runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guest speaker is Col. Dean Smittle, a military analyst for FOX19 Morning News, is the guest speaker. His topic is U.S. Military Risk in the Middle East and Update on the Regional Population/Tribal Communities.

Smittle has served in key leadership positions in both the army and air force and now teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.  Before enlisting, he earned a master of art education degree from the University of Cincinnati and graduated from the Air War College at Air University in Alabama.

The emcee for the luncheon is Rich Sears of Ameriprise Financial.

West Chester Liberty Chamber adds two board members

The West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance announced today, Sept. 2, that it has added Ron Rohlfing and Brett Smith as members to its board.

Ron Rohlfing is vice president of operations at the West Chester Medical Center and has been with the hospital since July 2006, two weeks before the ground breaking. He is responsible for many of the hospital support functions and several clinical departments. Ron is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, certified Six Sigma Black Belt, holds a Master’s in Business Administration and is pursing a Master’s Degree in Management. He has been with the Health Alliance, now UC Health, from its inception serving in a number of clinical and operational roles. Ron is an alumni of the West Chester ▪ Liberty Chamber Alliance SEBC Leadership21 program, volunteered for City Cure WhizKids reading program and is proud to serve the people of West Chester & Liberty Townships, Mason and the surrounding areas.

Brett Smith was hired as Superintendent/CEO of Butler Tech in July of 2010, becoming only the fourth top executive to lead the district since it opened its doors in 1975. From 1999 – 2010, Brett was Superintendent of Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center where he initiated many significant improvements to provide high quality career tech programming for the students of Pickaway and Ross Counties. In 2006 he helped the district pass its first operating levy in over 25 years. Under his leadership in 2009, Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center, with the help of the Ohio Schools Facility Commission, completed a $20 million renovation project, providing the secondary and adult students with state of the art facilities and equipment. Brett received his bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg College in 1976 and holds a master’s degree from Kent State University in Educational Administration. He is affiliated with Ohio Association of Career-Technical Superintendents; Ohio School Boards Association; Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators; Buckeye Association of School Administrators; Association for Career and Technical Education.
