Shauna Steigerwald reports

Mojo Running, the West Chester running specialty store, is itself on the move. The shop is relocating from its current space at 9318 Union Center Blvd in the U.S. Bank Plaza to a more visible space two miles away, at 8777 Cincinnati Dayton Road in Olde West Chester, near the Post Office, owner Paul Heintz said.

Heintz, who opened his West Chester store five years ago, said he’ll will reopen by Tuesday (May 1) so that runners can come in for their last-minute Flying Pig needs. Throughout this week, he’ll offer raffles and giveaways to celebrate the opening.

At the new store, Heintz will continue to carry predominantly running shoes, which salespeople fit to the individual runner’s feet and running needs. He also stocks running apparel and accessories, and he offers free running groups from the store.

“I’ve always been passionate about running,” he said of his decision to open the store five years ago, after working 24 years in the corporate world. “A lot of camaraderie and friendships have been made” through owning the store, he added.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Saturday; and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Stephanie’s Flowers fills void left in Olde West Chester

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the new flower shop in Olde West Chester.

Owner Stephanie Patterson has Stephanie’s Flowers and Fine Gifts ready for this week’s Christmas Walk after taking over the property, previously called Flowers by Nyla.

“It is going to be the first time that a lot of people see us,” said Patterson, who officially opened her flower shop in May. “I want people to see the warmth because I have tried to make it a really warm and cozy place that people would have fun coming to.”

Patterson had worked at the Delhi Garden Center in the Tri-County area for the past 18 years. With the garden center closing its Tri-County location, moving a lot of its merchandise to its Liberty Township location, it was a perfect time for her to start up her own business.

“It was perfect. It is Olde West Chester. I have done business with all the people in this area for a very long time. So everything just fell into place,” Patterson said. “It is sort of the perfect set up. The traffic along Cincinnati-Dayton Road is just unbelievable.”

Since taking over the property, Patterson has re-finished the inside of the store and has hired three designers from Delhi.

“We have been a team for a long time,” said Patterson, who worked with the designers at the garden center.

Her team specializes in custom work and makes appointments to decorate homes for the holidays and other events.

Flowers by Nyla had been in the space, 8880 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, for the past 27 years. It officially closed last New Year’s Eve.
