“Dead Serious…about life” musical to take place March 5-6

Posted by akiefaber March 3rd, 2011, 12:21 pm Post a Comment

Dead Serious…about life,” a musical drama exposing the issues of abortion, alcohol, drugs, religion, sex and suicide, will be performed at the Center Pointe Christian Church in Liberty Township next Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6. The performance March 5 will begin at 6 p.m. and the show March 6 will begin at 3 p.m.

The group performing the show is called Mishpachah, Inc., which is an auditioned group of high school students from the greater Cincinnati area. The group’s unique name “Mishpachah” is a Hebrew word that means family or clan.

The group’s website provides a description of the show:

“Dead Serious…about life” is a musical written to appeal to teenagers. It is upfront…it is blunt…it is life! The story begins at Todd and Stephanie’s house. Mom and Dad have left for the weekend, so let the party begin!

Throughout the course of the evening, you will meet the characters with their different personalities, their numerous problems and their view about their lives. “Dead Serious” will expose us all to the issues of abortion, alcohol, drugs, religion, sex and suicide… issues that we don’t want to talk about it or face. Well, hang onto your seat, ’cause this musical cuts it wide open. It will make you laugh, cry, hurt, fear and feel…but most of all “Dead Serious” will make you take a second look at life.

The final message that is communicated to the audience is that suicide only creates more problems than it really solves and that there is a better way to live!

Tickets are $8 in advance and $9 at the door. Advance tickets will be sold until March 3. To purchase tickets, call 800-459-7268.

The group will make another performance June 17 at Lakota East High School at 7 p.m.

For more information about the group, call 513-459-7268 or visit www.mish-inc.com.
