Former Lakota West basketball star Alexis Rogers, who is a redshirt sophomore on the Bowling Green State University girls’ basketball team, was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week Monday. It was the second time this season that Rogers earned the honor.
Rogers led the team in scoring and rounding last week, as Bowling Green defeated Ohio and Buffalo. The wins helped the Falcons improve its conference record to a perfect 4-0.
In the 61-49 win against Ohio, Rogers registered her third straight double-double when she scored 15 points and pulled down a game high 11 rebounds. Against Buffalo, Rogers led the Falcons with a game high 19 points. She also had 7 rebounds in 21 minutes of play.
In her first season at BGSU, after transferring from Duke University, Rogers is averaging 11.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Her team is currently 14-3 on the year and has won 7 straight games.
Rogers will be near West Chester Thursday when Bowling Green faces Miami University (14-3 overall, 4-0 in the MAC) at 7 p.m. at Millett Hall in Oxford in a battle for first place in the East Division of the MAC.
