Sue Kiesewetter reports:
A Liberty Township-based group is asking for the community’s help to prepare and pack nutritious meals for children on June 1 – World Hunger Day.
Kids Against Hunger has two sessions during which volunteers are needed to pack its vacuum-sealed, nutrition-rich meals for shipment. Individuals or groups can sign up to work from 9 a.m. to noon or from 1-4 p.m.
Each meal contains 52 percent protein, 21 vitamins and minerals, rice, and six dried vegetables that are heat-sealed in a pouch. A child can be fed for about 25 cents per day, said founder Larry Bergeron.
All packing sessions will take place at the organization’s warehouse and packing facility, located at 2430 E. Kemper Road, in Sharonville.
