Lakota West was eliminated from postseason play with a 3-1 loss to Northmont on Saturday in a district final matchup.
The Firebirds finished the regular season with a losing record within conference play, but that didn’t stop them from making a postseason run – shutting out Harrison, No. 7 in The Cincinnati Enquirer’s final coaches’ poll, and defeating No. 5 Hamilton by the score of 5-3.
Lakota East and Lakota West athletes recently finished up the Division I track district tournament at Winton Woods High School. The athletes who qualify will compete at the regional tournament this Wednesday and Friday at Dayton Welcome Stadium. Overall, the Lakota East girls’ team finished first. The East boys’ team finished seventh. Lakota West girls and boys finished ninth and tenth, respectively.
