The Lakota East’s production of “You Can’t Take It With You” will take place this weekend in the auditorium at Lakota East High School.

The show, which can be seen Friday, Saturday and Sunday, stars Lakota East seniors Maggie Schaller, Matt Littig, Katherine Barlow and Maria Rodriguez.

“You Can’t Take It With You” is set in the 1930’s and features an eccentric family and other fixtures of the household, including a delivery man who moved in and a Russian ballet teacher. Tensions arise in the midst of a tricky engagement, and families collide in the least graceful manners.

Juniors Sierra Piwarun and Kaicey Weber are the directors of the show. Stage managers include sophomore Taylor Longworth and senior Megan Jesse.

Shows will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. All ages are welcome to attend.

The Lakota East Thunderhawk Theater’s production of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” and “Alexander Who’s Not Not Not Not Not Not Going to Move” will take place this weekend, Nov. 2-4, at Lakota East High School.

The musicals, which are being directed by Lakota East senior Katherine Barlow, are based on the stories by Judith Viorst.

Showings of the production will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2; at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4.

Lakota East High School students will return to the stage April 8-9 for two more performances of their spring musical, “Oliver.” Both performances are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. The musical opened April 1-2.

Lakota East seniors Meg Trammel (Oliver), Alex Mail (Mr. Bumble), Chelsea Jolliffe (Widow Corney), Suzy Godber (Mrs. Sowerberry), Kayla Barker and Whitney Dottery (Artful Dodger), Dan Riemen (Bill Sykes), Alex Roberts (Mr. Brownlow) and Kate McMahon (Mrs. Bedwin), will be featured on stage for the last time before graduation.

They are joined by cast members, juniors Jake Huddilston (Fagin), Rachel King (Nancy), Natasia Reinhardt (Charlotte) and Ryan Block (Noah); sophomores Matt King (Oliver), Maria Rodriguez (Nancy) and Amalea Vidas (Bet); and freshman Connor Kratz (Mr. Sowerberry). Overall, nearly 100 talented East students are working on the stage, in the orchestra pit and behind the scenes on the show.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online, by calling 513-755-7211, ext. 15305 or at the door on the evening of the performance. The box office opens a half hour before each show.
