Those who want to meet and question candidates in the running for the Lakota Board of Education may attend a two-hour Meet the Candidates Night Wednesday.
Lakota’s District Parent Council is hosting the 7 p.m. gathering at the Lakota East Freshman School, 7630 Bethany Lane, in Liberty Township.
Incumbents Ray Murray and Ben Dibble are facing DaMonte Cole, a Lakota East graduate; and Todd Parnell, district parent; for one of three open seats on the board that will be decided Nov. 5. Board president Joan Powell is not seeking re-election.
The forum will begin with opening statements by each of the candidates, said Jenny Vanden Eynden, DPC chairman. Following their statements each will be asked to respond to five questions prepared by the DPC.
During the second half of the session, candidates will answer questions written by the audience and those received in advance. Submit questions toLakotaCandidateQuestions2013@gmail.com
