The West Chester Tea Party will hold its regular monthly meeting Tuesday at its new meeting location 8902 Beckett Road in West Chester. Registration and networking starts at 6:30 p.m., the meeting begins at 7 p.m.

According to a release from the Tea Party, understanding the issues in November’s election will be the focus of the meeting.

Jeff Longstreth, campaign manager for Ohioans for Health Care Freedom, will give information on Issue 3, which is on the Nov. 8 ballot. Lonstreth is encouraging voters to vote “yes” for the constitutional amendment, which would nullify a 2010 federal law requiring people to buy health insurance.

Issue 1, which would increase the maximum age may be elected or appointed judge, will be covered by Judge Sharon Kennedy. Issue 1, if passed, would also eliminate the authority of the general assembly to establish court of conciliation and the authority of the governor to appoint a supreme court commission.

NoLakota spokesman Rich Hoffman will also present information on the Lakota levy, Issue 5.

The proposed 4.75-mill tax levy, Issue 5, would raise $12.6 million annually with collections beginning in January. Taxes would increase about $145 annually on a $100,000 house.

There is no charge for attendance to the meeting.
