Golf Ball Drop to be held at Community Golf Classic

The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty will host its fourth annual Golf Ball Drop Monday, Aug. 2, at the Four Bridges Country Club.

The Golf Ball Drop consists of golf balls being dropped from a crane above a practice green.

The event will feature $5,000 worth in cash prizes. For the ball that goes into the hole, $3,000 will be awarded. For the next closest ball to the hole, $1,000 will be awarded. Then $500 will be awarded to, both, the next closest and the furthest ball from the hole.

To purchase golf ball tickets online, visit www.wclfoundation.com and download a Golf Ball Drop flyer. Tickets cost $20 or $100 for eight. Those tickets also include coupons to Back Porch Saloon, Uno’s Bar & Grill and Taco Bell.

Participants don’t need to be present to win.

All proceeds benefit the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty.

Community Golf Classic to tee off Aug. 2

The 11th annual West Chester/Liberty Community Golf Classic benefiting The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty will be held Monday, Aug. 2 at the Wetherington and Four Bridges country clubs.

Lunch will be served at both Clubs. The post-outing dinner, auction and awards will be held at the Four Bridges Country Club.

Each year the event attracts more than 200 golfers while raising more than $75,000 to support the foundation’s operations and community grant fund.

“Without the Community Golf Classic, the foundation would not be able to provide all of the wonderful grant awards and support to our community,” said Rick Prinz, co-chair of the golf outing.

“The community’s support of the golf classic allows the foundation to expand its work to improve the quality of life for those in West Chester and Liberty Township.”

The cost to register is $200 ($100 tax-deductible) per golfer and includes golf, cart, golf shirt, lunch, and dinner.
