Those who have been wondering what kind of environmental work has closed Dudley Woods can get a sneak peak Saturday.
Parks Committee member Chuck Holliday will lead visitors on a walk through the woods, beginning at 6 p.m. Meet at the park 5591 Hankins Road.
Participants are advised to bring a flashlight and binoculars in order to better view some of the upgrades and wildlife and plants along with field guides.
Since trails are unpaved and could become slick, boots or other suitable footwear should be worn.
Work at the park is being paid for by Stein + Associates in conjunction with the development of the 64-acre Liberty Center – a mixed used project.
Improvements include removing honeysuckle and other invasive plants along walking paths, stream restoration, and bank stabilization along Gregory Creek.
The park is expected to remain closed through March 14. It may close again periodically while certain improvements are being made.
