Drunk driving checkpoint tonight in West Chester

A drunk driving checkpoint will be held between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. on Muhlhauser Road at Inter-Ocean Drive, in West Chester Township, the Butler County OVI Task Force announced this morning.

Patrols also will be stepped up in the area.

Law enforcement agencies are required to give advance public notice on checkpoint locations.

Tonight’s drunk driving checkpoint location in Butler County

A drunk driving checkpoint will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday night through Saturday on Ohio 4 north of Wilbraham Road in Middletown, the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced this morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Thursday morning that there would be a checkpoint somewhere in Butler County on Friday.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

“Based on 2011 provisional data, there were 369 OVI-related fatal traffic crashes that killed 399 people last year in Ohio,” Lieutenant Ed Mejia, commander of the Hamilton Post said. “State troopers make on average 24,000 OVI arrests each year in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers. OVI checkpoints are designed to not only deter impaired driving, but to proactively remove these dangerous drivers from our roadways.”

A drunk driving checkpoint will be held somewhere in Butler County Friday night, the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Thursday morning.

The time and location will be released Friday morning. According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, most take place between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

A drunk driving checkpoint will be held between 6 p.m. and midnight on Ohio 747 tonight, the Butler County OVI Task Force announced this morning.

Patrols also will be stepped up in the area.

Law enforcement agencies are required to give advance public notice on checkpoint locations.

A drunk driving checkpoint will take place somewhere in Butler County Friday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The time and location will be divulged Friday morning.

Most operations take place between 10 p.m. and 2 or 3 a.m.

Patrols also will be stepped up.

Last year in Ohio, there were 369 drug and alcohol-related fatal traffic crashes killing 399 people, said Lt. Ed Mejia, commander of the patrol’s Hamilton post.
