Dan Horn reports:
WEST CHESTER — House Speaker John Boehner dropped by his home district today to deliver the same message he’s been repeating in Washington for months on jobs and health care.
Boehner toured a West Chester business, Republic Wire, while complaining that President Barack Obama’s health care law and economic policies are bad for workers and small businesses.
“Take Obamacare as an example. All it does is create more uncertainty for people trying to create jobs,” Boehner said. “This is big government getting in the way.”
Much of the criticism on jobs and the health care law center on a Congressional Budget Office report last week that found the Affordable Care Act, better known as “Obamacare,” could reduce the number of workers in the labor force by about 2 million.
While Boehner and Republicans immediately declared the law would “destroy” all those jobs, the report was more nuanced. It said those workers would choose not to work, or to reduce their work hours, if they no longer needed to hold a job to obtain health insurance.
