Liberty Township’s Breakfast with Santa is Dec. 1

Posted by akiefaber November 20th, 2012, 8:57 am Post a Comment

Sue Kiesewetter reports:

Liberty Township’s Breakfast with Santa is changing locations to accommodate a larger crowd.

The popular gathering with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be held Dec. 1 at Liberty Heights Church. It will still be hosted by Eli’s Sports Bar and Grill.

“Last year the event was a great success so we selected a larger venue for 2012 so we can accommodate more families,’’ said Melanie Brokaw, assistant township administrator and Events Committee liaison.

“We are grateful to Eli’s who will continue to serve as the event host, providing a chef and donating the bacon.”

The breakfast and fundraiser for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s Liberty Campus, runs from 8:30-10:30 a.m., at the church, 7904 Princeton Road.

Families can come anytime during those hours for a traditional all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, including bacon, coffee, orange juice and milk.

“Liberty Heights Church is being a gracious partner in providing us the space to grow our event and give more children the chance to have breakfast with Santa Claus,’’ Brokaw said.

Families can bring a camera to take pictures of their children with Santa Claus. He will arrive at the event on the township’s original 1954 fire engine.

Entertainment will be provided by the Lakota West Jazz Ensemble, playing holiday music. Children can also complete a craft while they wait to have their picture taken.

Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children, which includes a $2 donation for every adult ticket and $1 from every child’s ticket, to the Liberty Township campus of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Tickets can be purchased at the township administration building, 6400 Princeton Road or at the door.

Information/tickets: 513-759-7500 or vdaniel@liberty-township.com.

Stephanie’s Flowers fills void left in Olde West Chester

Posted by akiefaber November 15th, 2011, 2:31 pm Post a Comment

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the new flower shop in Olde West Chester.

Owner Stephanie Patterson has Stephanie’s Flowers and Fine Gifts ready for this week’s Christmas Walk after taking over the property, previously called Flowers by Nyla.

“It is going to be the first time that a lot of people see us,” said Patterson, who officially opened her flower shop in May. “I want people to see the warmth because I have tried to make it a really warm and cozy place that people would have fun coming to.”

Patterson had worked at the Delhi Garden Center in the Tri-County area for the past 18 years. With the garden center closing its Tri-County location, moving a lot of its merchandise to its Liberty Township location, it was a perfect time for her to start up her own business.

“It was perfect. It is Olde West Chester. I have done business with all the people in this area for a very long time. So everything just fell into place,” Patterson said. “It is sort of the perfect set up. The traffic along Cincinnati-Dayton Road is just unbelievable.”

Since taking over the property, Patterson has re-finished the inside of the store and has hired three designers from Delhi.

“We have been a team for a long time,” said Patterson, who worked with the designers at the garden center.

Her team specializes in custom work and makes appointments to decorate homes for the holidays and other events.

Flowers by Nyla had been in the space, 8880 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, for the past 27 years. It officially closed last New Year’s Eve.
