Boo Bear, a 1-year-old greyhound mix, was one of the dogs available for adoption when the Animal Friends Humane Society van visited the West Chester Library. Dogs like Boo Bear will be hoping to find a home Oct. 13 at a pet adoption event at the Animal Hospital of West Chester. Photo taken by Adam Kiefaber.
More than 40 dogs will be up for adoption during a special event, which will also raise money for Carlie’s Animal Relief Foundation, at the Animal Hospital of West Chester this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The pets up for adoption will be provided by local rescue organizations including the Animal Friends Humane Society and Recycled Doggies.
The event also welcomes dog owners by offering $10 on-site “while you wait” dog baths and nail trimming services, as well as on-site microchip insertion and online registration information for $25.
Furthermore, several community gift baskets will be raffled during the event and prizes awarded throughout the day.
All proceeds from the raffles, dog baths and micro chipping will go directly to Carlie’s Animal Relief Foundation (CARF), which helps pets and their families by donating money towards medication and procedures for pets whose owners need help caring for them.
This event will take place in the parking lot of the Animal Hospital of West Chester, 9335 Cincinnati-Columbus Road (Rt. 42 – Between Dimmick & West Chester Road).
