A man allegedly robbed the PNC Bank, 7301 Tylers Square Drive, Wednesday afternoon then led West Chester police officers on a chase that eventually ended with the suspect jumping into the Miami River.

Police arrived on the scene after the suspect had fled in a white van. Officers spotted the van on Liberty Way when they started their pursuit. Police cruisers then followed the suspect northbound on Interstate 75 and initiated a traffic stop.
The suspect refused to stop and eventually exited on State Route 122. Beaty finally stopped his van on Cincinnati-Dayton Road in Montgomery County and jumped into the Miami River.
Police ordered the suspect out of the river and arrested him without further incident.
Beaty was taken to the West Chester Hospital after complaining of a medical issue unrelated to the robbery or to the chase.
Once released from the hospital, he will be taken to the Butler County Jail on a second-degree felony robbery charge.
The robbery investigation is ongoing.
