Donating blood Christmas Eve at the Bridgewater Falls shopping complex could result in top seats at the Bengals vs. Ravens football game.

The Hoxworth Blood Center will park its bloodmobile in the parking lot near the Best Buy store in Fairfield Township center. It will be there from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donors should be at least 17 years old or 16 years old with parental consent. They must weigh at least 110 pounds and should eat a good meal within four hours of their appointment.

Drinking water or juice is advised before and after donating.

Those who donate blood will be entered in a drawing for two club seats for the Dec. 30 Bengals game.

The shopping center is located on Princeton Road between Ohio 4 Bypass and Morris Road.

A blood drive at The Streets of West Chester Saturday will reward donors with a free movie ticket redeemable at Rave Motion Pictures, 9415 Civic Center Boulevard.

The Hoxworth Blood Center will have its bloodmobile in the Rave’s parking lot between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

To donate blood, participants must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Prospective donors must also bring a photo I.D.

It is also recommended to eat a good meal within four hours before donating and to drink plenty of water or juice before and after donating.

Cincy Magic, a local girls’ fastball organization, is sponsoring a blood drive Thursday and Friday at the West Chester Community Blood Center.

The blood drive is part of BloodFest, which is a fastpitch softball event designed to provide health awareness to the community this Saturday and Sunday.

During BloodFest, the National Kidney Foundation, LifeCenter, Community Blood Center and the Leukemia Society will provide information to those in attendance.

Fastpitch softball games will be played between various organization at all age groups Saturday and Sunday at the Fairfield North Elementary School, which is located at 6116 Morris Road. Games will begin at 8:45 a.m. each day. The last games are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.

The blood drive in West Chester is scheduled to take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. During the event, blood donors can “tag” their donations to their favorite girls’ fastpitch team.

Residents can drop off unwanted and unused prescription drugs between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No syringes or lancets will be accepted at this drop-off nor over-the-counter or syrup or liquid medications.

The first 50 blood donors at the Rave Motion Pictures Monday will receive VIP Tickets to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts 1 & 2 this Thursday, July 14, beginning at 9:15 p.m.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 is the final film in the Harry Potter series. The movie will be released into theaters nationwide this Friday, July 15.

The Gold Star Chili, located at 4271 Hamilton-Middletown Road in Liberty Township, is hosting a blood drive today, May 27, between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. All registered donors will receive a free summer blood drive t-shirt and cheese coney.

The blood drive is a part of the second annual “Give Blood … Cincinnati Style” summer blood drive tour. Gold Star Chili, Hoxworth Blood Center and the University of Cincinnati put the tour together.

Bill Cunningham of 700 WLW and the Hoxworth Blood Center at the University of Cincinnati will host a blood drive tomorrow, Dec. 3, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Willie’s Sports Café in West Chester.

A $10 gift to the restaurant will be handed out to each person who donates blood.

“This is your chance to be ‘A Great American,’” Cunningham said in the event’s press release. “Make an appointment to roll up your sleeve and save lives by making a blood donation.”

Donors can schedule their appointments online by visiting hoxworth.org/groups/willies or by contacting Eric Schmaltz at 513-558-1343.

Blood donations will be collected in the “bloodmobile” which will be located in the parking lot.

Willie’s Sports Café is located at 8188 Princeton Glendale Road next to Kroger.
