AK Steel executive Albert Ferrara Jr. will retire from the company Aug. 31, the company said Tuesday.
Ferrara was an AK Steel senior vice president and was the head of corporate strategy and investor relations. He served as the company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer for more than a decade.
Roger Newport, vice president and chief financial officer, and Doug Mitterholzer, assistant treasurer, will handle investor relations duties after Ferrara retires.
Ferrara has worked in the steel industry for more than 40 years and joined AK Steel in June 2003. Institutional Investor Magazine has named Ferrara as one of the nation’s best CFOs, the company said. Prior to working at AK Steel, Ferrara held executive positions with NS Group, USX Corp. and United States Steel Corp.
Ferrara has served as a United Way of Greater Cincinnati – Middletown board member and member of the executive committee.
