Lakota West seniors Abigail Koch and Aimee Martini, as well as Lakota East seniors Alicia Morris and Alexandra Lindner were all honored for their participation in the 2012 Xavier University Regional High School Juried Exhibition.
Koch won first place for her painting titled “Breakfast” and Martini earned honorable mention honors for her painting titled “Eggs.” Morris was a honorable mention for her drawing titled “Forever Engraved” and Lindner was also named honorable mention for her metals piece titled “Guitar.”The free exhibit at the Xavier University Art Gallery in the A. B. Cohen Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 15.
Overall, it features 149 artworks by young artists from 32 different high schools in the region. The final pieces, including 66 from Lakota East and Lakota West High School students, were selected from an original pool of more than 400 artworks competing for space in the annual exhibit.
