Ten children’s game and a dance performance by children at SDA Studios are part of this year’s Liberty Township Fall Festival.
Saturday’s community gathering opens with the fourth annual Pursuit of Liberty 5K Run/Walk. It begins and ends at Liberty Park, 6757 Yankee Road.
Registration for the 3.1-mile course begins at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m. The course begins at the park and takes participants through the Dutchland Woods and Oaks of Woodcreek subdivisions, ending back at the park.
Online registration is $20 and available through midnight Wednesday at www.sprunning.com. Race day registration is $25.
Awards will be presented to the overall male and female and the top three walkers and runners in each age division.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Liberty Park. Entertainment includes performances by the Lakota East Jazz Band and demonstrations by Han’s White Tiger Tae Kwon Do.
Children can play one of the games – including Mystery Drawer, Potty Toss and Quarter Pitch – at a cost of 25 cents or 50 cents per game.
There is a free Kids Activity Zone where children can do a craft or explore SuperGames’ inflatables at no cost.
Booths feature community groups and vendors along with ice cream and food. A silent auction features sports memorabilia. Among the items in the auction are an aerial photo of the Lakota East stadium, five members of the Big Red Machine, and a picture tribute to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Mini-train, horse, and carriage rides will also be available.
