Memorial Day weekend is typically the unofficial start of summer, but this year it will be a cool one.
You will need a sweater or jacket this morning. It’s clear and 51 degrees in downtown Cincinnati, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
You might see a light drizzle or shower. Most locations will slip into the 40s by daybreak.

Today will be mostly cloudy with gradual afternoon sun. The high temperature will struggle to reach the mid-60s by 5 p.m.
Tonight will be mostly clear – but cold with a low of 42.
Normally, our high temperature is 76 with lows in the mid-50s. We’re falling below normal due to a high pressure system bringing cooler air in from the north, said meteorologist Brian Coniglio.
Saturday and Sunday look near picture perfect: mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s and low 70s, ideal for going on a long bike ride or strolling amid the booths at Taste of Cincinnati, sampling the city’s culinary fare.
Monday will be mostly cloudy but dry with a high of 73.
Overnight lows this weekend will remain brisk and in the upper 40s and low 50s.
Once the work week begins on Tuesday, we’ll be back to summertime heat.
Highs will be in the low 80s and reach the mid-80s by Wednesday.
