The LaRosa’s Royal 8 Hardwood Classic boys basketball tournament features Anderson, Elder, Fairfield, Lakota West, Madeira, St. Xavier, Turpin and Withrow and will benefit local charity Neediest Kids of All.
“We are very excited to introduce this new high school basketball tournament to our area, providing 8 of our top teams the opportunity to compete for the inaugural championship trophy.” says LaRosa’s CEO Michael LaRosa.
LaRosa’s Royal 8 Hardwood Classic is the creation of former Anderson High School Athletic Director Rich Neumann. Neumann is partnering with tournament host Fairfield High School and its Athletic Director Mark Harden on the tournament.
LaRosa’s Royal 8 Hardwood Classic will also benefit local charity Neediest Kids of All.
Jan. 17 first-round schedule: Covington Catholic at Fairfield, 8 p.m.; St. Xavier at Elder, 7:30 p.m.; Lakota West vs. Withrow, 6:30 p.m. at Fairfield. Turpin previously defeated Anderson on Dec. 20.
