A Butler County organization that matches volunteers with work needed now has a Facebook page.
The Community Volunteer Force recently added the www.facebook.com/communityvolunteerforce page as it celebrates its one-year anniversary.
The group circulates a monthly email list of help needed. It goes to individuals, service clubs and organizations, businesses and seven school districts, who share it with students.
“Rebroadcast is a key element for CVF,’’ said Dan Schlosser, chairman of the group’s steering committee.
“For example, the Fairfield Community Connection re-circulates the list to organizations in its area of influence. Some agencies forward the list to their own staff or corps of volunteers.”
Among the requests for volunteers the group has helped with were: people to label cans of corn for Shared Harvest Foodbank, science fair judges for Hamilton Rotary, and help with a 7,000 piece mailing.
“Organizations use volunteers all across Butler County,” Schlosser said. “Requests for help have come from Okeana to West Chester and Middletown to Ross.”
The service is free. Organizations and agencies may post listings.
