The Goddard School is hoping to make Christmas a bit merrier for some children in the Lakota schools.
For the 17th year the West Chester Township school will host a giving tree for Reach Out Lakota, a food and clothing pantry serving families in the Lakota Local School District.
Community members and students at the school can participate in the project by bringing a toy appropriate for an infant through high school students to the school beginning Monday, through Dec. 9.
“It is a great opportunity for our teachers and children to be able to appreciate and help those who are less fortunate than themselves,’’ said Sandy Stuckert, owner of the school.
Donors will take a candy cane and put their name on it and putting it on the tree. Once the gifts have been taken to Reach Out Lakota, the candy canes will be given to the donor.
Unwrapped gifts can be brought to the school, 7739 Princeton-Glendale Road, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., weekdays.
