Updated playground equipment could be coming to Liberty Township’s Reserves Park next year.
That is if the township is awarded a $131,000 Community Development Block grant it is applying for.
Money would be used to purchase and install a piece of equipment that includes seven stations, slides, rock climber and shade canopy. The equipment would be handicap accessible, according to Rick Plummer, service director.
Should the township receive the grant it would remove a climber and merry-go-round.
The township’s share of the project cost would be $20,000, said Kristen Bitonte, township administrator.
Plummer said the township will be notified late this year or early 2014 on the status of the application.
