Lakota West (6-4) improved to 5-1 within the Greater Miami Conference with a 5-2 win against Hamilton Friday. The Firebirds only loss within conference play was at Oak Hills – 4-1 last Wednesday.
Junior pitcher Ashley Sharp is off to a strong start with a 3-3 record, and 51 strikeouts in 41.2 innings. She also has two shutouts, one save and a 1.51 earned run average. The Wright State commit also has a .500 batting average (13 hits in 26 at-bats), according to gmcsports.com.
This week, Lakota West will host Princeton Monday, will play at Colerain Wednesday and will host Mason Friday (all games at 4:30 p.m.).
Meanwhile, Lakota East (5-3, 2-2) won back-to-back games in its doubleheader Saturday. This week, the Thunderhawks will host Mason Monday, will play at Middletown Wednesday, host Hamilton Thursday and host Sycamore Friday.
Lakota East (6-3, 4-2) has lost back-to-back games to Mason last week. This week, the Thunderhawks will host Princeton Monday, play at Princeton Wednesday and at Colerain on Friday (all games are at 5 p.m.).
Lakota West (4-7, 1-5) split a doubleheader on Saturday, losing against Pickerington North, 7-6, and defeating Gahanna Lincoln, 12-2. This week, the Firebirds will host Colerain Monday, will play at Colerain Wednesday and at Middletown Friday (5 p.m.).
Lakota East junior Autumn Heath won the 100 and 200 meters at the Coaches Classic at Winton Woods Friday. She posted a 12.55 in the 100 and 26.11 in the 200.
