The Lakota East baseball team has won its first five games of the 2013 season by a combined score of 67-to-19, according to gmcsports.com.
The Thunderhawks (5-0, 3-0 in the Greater Miami Conference) will be tested in their next game at Mason (6-0, 3-0) Wednesday at 5 p.m. Lakota East will play Mason again on Friday at Prasco Park, 6125 Commerce Court, at 7 p.m. as part of the Reds Futures High School Showcase.
Meanwhile, Lakota West (2-4, 0-3) lost four of its first five before defeating Kings 10-0. West will host Mason Monday at 5 p.m., play at Princeton (0-5, 0-3) Wednesday at 5 p.m. and will play Princeton at Prasco Park (Reds Showcase) Friday at 5 p.m.
In softball, Lakota West (3-3, 2-0) has outscored its two GMC opponents – Middletown and Sycamore – 13-0 in its two conference wins. The Firebirds will face rival Lakota East Monday at 4:30 p.m. (WestChesterBuzz.com will provide game story and photos). West will also host Fairfield (1-2, 0-2) Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., play at Oak Hills (3-0, 3-0) Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and host Hamilton (1-4, 0-1) Friday at 4:30 p.m.
The Thunderhawks defeated Fairfield 7-1 in its opener last Monday, before losing 1-0 to Oak Hills last Friday. After its game against West, East will host Princeton (3-3, 1-1) Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and will then play at Colerain (4-2, 2-1) Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
In volleyball, Lakota West (3-0) will host Wayne Monday at 7 p.m., Fairfield (1-2, 1-1) Tuesday at 7 p.m., will play at Sycamore Wednesday at 7 p.m. and will host Princeton Thursday at 7 p.m. Not all of Lakota East’s scores have been reported and there appears to a mistake on its schedule this week, visit gmcsports.com for updates.
In tennis, both Lakota East and Lakota West teams will begin this week. East opens at home Monday against Loveland at 4 p.m., while West opens at home Tuesday against Middletown at that same time.
