Ben Goldschmidt reports:
The Butler County Bomb Squad is investigating a suspicious package that was found in the lobby of the U.S. Post Office in West Chester on the 8700 block of Cincinnati Dayton Road at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
A person walked into the lobby of the post office this morning and found a large black trash bag making a beeping noise, West Chester police said.
The bomb squad removed the package and are currently investigating its contents, but determined there was no bomb in the bag. The squad does not yet know why the bag was beeping, police said.
West Chester police and firefighters had Cincinnati-Dayton Road blocked off from near the intersection at I-75 to Station Road for about 45 minutes during the investigation.
