A Butler County Children Services caseworker was fired Monday after officials said she improperly accessed confidential computerized records about her daughter’s case last April and tried to use the information to influence the daughter’s caseworker.
Connie Davis, a family resource specialist, deliberately was not permitted to access files or be involved with her daughter’s case, documents obtained by The Enquirer show.
“I find Ms. Davis … demonstrated a pattern of misappropriating agency property for her personal benefit so she could intercede on her daughter’s behalf with an agency coworker,” Jerome Kearns, head of the county job and family services agency, wrote in a recent disciplinary report.
He noted that Davis had a disciplinary history with the agency dating back to 2005. A settlement agreement for the earlier undisclosed incident indicated that Davis was to be fired immediately if she “misappropriates funds, property or services of (children services) for her own personal use or that of family members.”
