Discounted cat spay/neuter services available

Posted by akiefaber February 20th, 2013, 11:25 am

Sue Kiesewetter reports:

A partnership between United Coalition for Animals – UCAN –Cincinnati and the Butler County Animal Friends Humane Society will allow Butler County residents to get their cats spayed/neutered for $10.

A grant UCAN received allowed the non-profit clinic to lower the cost of its spay/neuter service – which includes a rabies shot.

Transportation to the clinic, 1230 W. Eighth St., in downtown Cincinnati, will be provided free to Butler County residents who sign up for one of three scheduled transports: March 19, April 8 or May 21.

“This is an unbelievable price for a top-notch service and we expect to fill all three transports quite quickly,’’ said Meg Stephenson, executive director for the humane society.

“Spaying and neutering pets is crucial to decreasing the massive pet overpopulation in our country. It also has health benefits for your pet.”

Appointments have to be made in person at the humane society during regular hours. Payment is due at the time the appointment is made. Bring a valid identification card.

The center, located at 1820 Princeton Road, in Hamilton, is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It is open from 1-7 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
