Jennifer Edwards Baker reports:

A mostly dry and sunny week is ahead with temperatures at or a little above normal for this time of year.

The sun returns today after a rainy, dreary Sunday, but it will be windy with gusts up to 38 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 30. Winds will calm and only blow up to 16 mph.

It will be sunny again Tuesday with a high of 44 degrees. Clouds will increase Tuesday night as the low falls to 32.

There’s a slight chance for showers by Wednesday afternoon. It will be mostly cloudy otherwise with a high of 42, our normal daytime high temperature for this time of year.

Thursday looks to be the best day of the week with plenty of sunshine and a high soaring to near 50.

The weekend will be cloudy with temperatures falling from 40 on Friday to the low 30s by Sunday. Overnight lows will plunge to the upper teens.
