Butler County deputies were called to a Liberty Township home on Monday night, after a stranger in his 20s tried to lure a 9-year-old boy into his car with a comic book.
According to a release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the boy said he was walking to his home on Grey Elk Court from a friend’s house on nearby Long Drive shortly after 6 p.m. when a black car pulled up next to him and a male driver exited the vehicle holding a comic book.
The stranger asked the boy if he liked comic books. Then threw it into the back seat of the car and told the young boy to go get it, if he wanted it.
The boy ran toward his house, as the car drove away.
The description of the stranger, provided by the boy, was that he was in his 20s and was wearing a green shirt.
Deputies were unsuccessful in their search and are currently looking for any additional information about this incident. People, who know anything or have experienced anything similar, are being asked to call the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at 513-785-1300.
