Severe weather has moved out of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, but rain is still expected this morning.
Occasional pockets of steady rain will fall through 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. There will be a lingering chance for sprinkles the rest of the day. Winds could gust more than 30 mph.
Strong storms with winds gusting more than 50 mph swept through our region earlier today, prompting severe thunderstorm and tornado watches for parts of the area. Only Brown County remains under a tornado watch at this time.
Power outages are still coming in with more than 2,500 in the dark this morning, according to Duke Energy’s website. Most of those outages, 1,157, are in Campbell County. Another 705 customers are without power in Hamilton County.

Campbell County Police reported just before 6 a.m. that there were several trees down along Stonehouse Road in Melbourne.
Up to a half inch of could fall by tonight as a cold front approaches from the west.
It’s 54 degrees with light winds of seven mph at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. We already reached our high temperature for the day of 66 degrees at 4 a.m., just two degrees below the record high on this date of 68.
The mercury will hover in the low 50s the rest of the day before plunging to 25 overnight.
Winds could gust 37 mph as the rain could change to a wintry mix of rain and snow showers by 2 a.m. Thursday.
By 4 a.m., the mix could switch to all light snow that could accumulate to less than a half inch, making morning rush hour slick.
The chance for snow showers will stick around throughout the day Thursday and into the night. In all, a half inch of snow is expected if anything develops. It will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature of 31.
The overnight low will fall to 12 with wind chill values as low as -2 by early Friday.
This weekend looks cold with a mix of sun Friday followed by a chance for snow showers Saturday morning. Temperatures will be in the 30s with overnight lows in the 20s.
