The Lakota East boys’ basketball team improved to 5-0 this season with a 72-68 win at Winton Woods Tuesday night.
Senior guard Stedman Lowry scored 27 points to lead the way for the Thunderhawks. So far this season, Lowry is averaging 21.2 points per game. Teammates senior Robbie Harping and sophomore Alex White added 14 and 10 points respectively, to help carry Lakota East to the victory.
Winton Woods’ Trent Donald scored a game-high 28 points, but the Warriors weren’t able to overcome the deficit. The Thunderhawks led by 12 points in the first half, and Winton Woods cut the lead and made it interesting late.
Lakota East will be back in action Friday night when it will visit Princeton (2-0 overall, 1-0 in GMC). Then on Saturday, the Thunderhawks visit school district rival Lakota West (2-0 overall, 1-0 in GMC). Both games tip off at 7:30 p.m.
In 2013, East will host West on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
