The Lakota East boys’ team and the Lakota West girls’ team won their games on Tuesday night. East defeated Western Hills 69-59, while West defeated Ursuline 52-43.
Lakota East improved to 3-0 with its win. Senior guard Stedman Lowry led the Thunderhawks with 28 points. Teammates, senior guard Robbie Harpring and sophomore forward Myo Baxter, each added 13 points.
Meanwhile, Lakota West (3-1, 1-1 in GMC)) outscored Ursuline 17-9 in the fourth quarter en route to its third win of the season. Freshman guard Nia Staples led the Firebirds with 12 points. Staples is now averaging 13.3 points per game in four games this season.
Next up for East is a home game against GMC foe Colerain (0-0) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Lakota West will be back in action this Saturday with a road game at Colerain (1-2, 1-0 in GMC) at 2 p.m.
