Lakota West senior linebacker Mike Kelly received an offer from West Point on Monday, according to his high school head coach Larry Cox.
The offer and other Lakota West recruiting information involving junior running back Mikel Horton was reported by Mike Dyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Kelly, who has a 4.0 GPA and a 28 on his ACT, also has offers from Yale, Indiana State, Lafayette, Princeton, Air Force, Brown and Villanova. Furthermore, Ohio and Kent State have shown interest in the linebacker.
This past season, Kelly was second on the team in total tackles (44) and in tackles for loss (10.5). He also had two sacks and led the team with two forced fumbles.
Meanwhile, Horton has received recent interest from Penn State and Michigan State.
In November, Horton was named to Rivals.com 250 Prospect Rankings list for the class of 2014. He was one of four players from the region to make the list, which also included Walnut Hills defensive back Nilijah Ballew, Conner (Hebron, Ky.) quarterback Drew Barker and Colerain wide receiver Trevon Hudson.
Rivals.com is listing all four local athletes as four-star recruits.
Horton, who rushed for 1,003 yards and 13 touchdowns on 202 carries this past fall, has an offer from Indiana.
