The Lakota West varsity wrestling program placed third at Saturday’s Olentangy Invitational in Lewis Center, Ohio. Of the 12 Lakota West wrestlers competing, eight finished in the top four in their weight class, led by a first-place finish by sophomore Andy Cress at 145 pounds.
As a team, Lakota West finished behind Centerville and St. Xavier and ahead of five other schools.
Individually, Kevin Leonhardt (138 lb.) and Butch Chaney (195 lb.) finished in second place; Jake Jensen (120 lb.), Drew Fenton (182 lb.) and Eli McBurrows (220 lb.) finished in third place; Austin Soliday (113 lb.) and Mason Quinn (152 lb.) finished in fourth place.
