The Butler County Engineer’s Office announced Tuesday that Rialto Road in West Chester Township is now open. A portion of the road had been closed since early July as the Rialto Road bridge over Mill Creek was replaced.
The bridge, just south of the West Chester Road and Beckett Road intersection, was a steel truss built in 1956, according to the Butler County Engineer’s Office. The bridge was replaced with a new pre-cast concrete arch structure.
The construction contract for the project was awarded to Ford Development Corp. of Cincinnati, which submitted a low bid of $516,085. Funding will consist of Ohio Public Works Commission grant money and matching funds from the BCEO.
