Great Pumpkin Fest is Oct. 13 at West Chester’s Keehner Park

Halloween will be celebrated a bit early in West Chester Township with the Great Pumpkin Fest.

The fall-themed festival runs from 2-6 p.m., Oct. 13, at Keehner Park, 7211 Barrett Road.

There is no cost for the festival which features a Not-So-Scary Haunted Trail targeted to younger children. Girl scouts will be stationed along the trail to greet children and offer games and treats.

Other activities include inflatable rides, crafts, pony rids and a petting zoo provided by Honey Hill Farm.

Children can go to a pumpkin patch provided by Station Road Farm, where they can buy a pumpkin from amongst several of varying sizes.

The Primrose School of West Chester will host the costume contest, which begins at 3 p.m. on the amphitheatre stage. Registration begins at 2 p.m. Children will compete based on their age.

The West Chester Historical Society will provide activities at the park’s cabin.

Pumpkins, food and some trinkets will be for sale but all other activities are provided at no cost.
