If you are having trouble finding directions to your local doctor’s office, it is likely the office hasn’t moved. But, it could mean, the name of the street of where it is located may have changed.
A street, which surrounds West Chester Hospital, now has two different names. University Court, between Cox Road and the University Medical Office Building, is now called Discovery Drive. In addition, the north to south leg of University Court is now Wellness Way.
There are about 45 businesses affected by the changes, nearly all are medical related businesses and the majority are directly related to UC Physicians, according West Chester Township public information officer Barbara Wilson.
Wilson also said that property owners in the area petitioned the county for the street name changes because many found the street designations to be confusing.
The name changes went into effect Aug. 1.
Jennifer Rountree, who works for the West Chester Center for Dentistry, which is located at 7798 Discovery Drive, says updates are still in progress on the Internet, so the old street name may still be listed on some sites.
