UPDATE: JULY 6, 3:42 P.M. - Jay J. Lakes, who was named critically missing by West Chester Police Department Thursday, has been located and is well, according to police.
ORIGINAL STORY: JULY 5, 3:52 P.M. - The West Chester Police Department is seeking assistance in a missing person case Thursday.
Police say Jay. J. Lakes left his residence in West Chester driving a black 2011 Ford Expedition, Ohio license plate #DOU5617, Wednesday, July 4, at about 2:30 p.m.
Lakes, 36, is described by the police department as six-foot, 165 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
Lakes has made threats to hurt himself and is armed with an unknown type of handgun, according to a release from the West Chester Police Department.
The last known whereabouts for Lakes was in an area south of Uniontown, Penn.
