Police investigating dog hanging in West Chester

Posted by akiefaber May 16th, 2012, 5:57 pm

A West Chester woman claims that she found her dog hanging by its neck from a tree in her yard in the 8900 block of Lesourdsville-West Chester Road around 8 p.m. Thursday.

The West Chester Police Department is investigating the complaint reported by Sherry Faber on Sunday morning, despite not seeing the dog.

According to that report, the dog died as a result of the hanging.

“This crime stands out due to the heartless and cowardice nature of the crime, which appears to be a violent act against an innocent family pet,” West Chester Sgt. Matt Tombragel said.

“We have no reason to doubt what the pet owner has reported and we will conduct a thorough investigation as possible.”

Suspect(s) face cruelty to animal charges.
