The VOA Museum of Broadcasting will hold an organizational meeting for prospective volunteers from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The meeting, which will be held at the facility at 8070 Tylersville Road, will provide information on speaking and docent volunteer opportunities and the time commitment involved. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
Museum officials say they hope the meeting will attract people from all backgrounds who have an interest in Cincinnati radio history.
The Bethany Station plant is undergoing $500,000 restoration project in anticipation of launching a $12 million fundraising campaign to become a first class museum and revenue-generating landmark.
“We’ve traditionally had interest from people who are integrally involved in Cincinnati radio history, shortwave radio and those who feel the strong pull of the Voice of America’s commitment to tell the truth and let the world decide,” said Ken Rieser, museum board president. “This is an opportunity for those in the community at large who want to get involved to come on board and join the VOA Museum family.”
Registration is required. For volunteer information or to register, contact Dave Snyder at firstname.lastname@example.org. For museum information, go to www.voamuseum.org.
