A Liberty Township business owner has made The Enquirer’s list of 20 Professional Women to Watch in 2012.

Liz Rogers, president and executive chef of Mahogany’s Bar and Grill, is named among the list of some of the city’s smartest and most successful businesswomen.  Here’s why she was chosen:

Liz Rogers will become the first minority business owner at The Banks on the Cincinnati riverfront, opening a second location in April of her Hamilton-based soul food restaurant.

The original Mahogany’s, opened in 2010, quickly became known for its Southern shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles and divine peach cobbler. The sweet potato muffins are so popular that Rogers now has a deal with Busken Bakery to bake and sell them.

“I’ve been talking about opening a restaurant all my life, and I finally went for it,” she says.

Rogers, 42, is married with one son.
