The Lakota West High School will host four performances of the Jane Austen classic “Pride and Prejudice” this October.
Adapted by Jon Jory, the romantic comedy tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet, a witty girl, navigating English society and its strict rules of conduct.
Much to her mother’s chagrin Elizabeth shows no interest in marriage as her mother looks to find suitable mates for her and her four sisters.
Watch to see what happens when Mr. Darcy appears – a man who seems to have as much stubborn pride as Elizabeth.
Junior Alex Roberts takes on the role of Elizabeth Bennet to senior Drew Hamilton’s portrayal of Mr. Darcy.
Other students in the play and their roles are: Katie Duffy as Jane Bennet, Caleb Williamson as Mr. Bingley, Katie Davis as Mrs. Bennet, Adam Williams as Mr. Bennet, Alex Caldwell as Lydia Bennet, Becca Braun as Kitty Bennet, and Abby Koch as Mary Bennet.
The play opens at 8 p.m. Oct. 15, at West, 8940 Union Centre Drive. Other performances are set for 8 p.m., Oct. 21-22 and 2 p.m., Oct. 16.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $13 at the door.
