Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones will be the featured speaker at next week’s West Chester Tea Party meeting at EnterTRAINment Junction in West Chester. The meeting, which will take place July 19, begins at 7 p.m., while registration and networking will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Sheriff Richard Jones A press release from the West Chester Tea Party gives details about its featured speaker:

Sheriff Jones will give his unique perspective on several issues that concern Tea Party supporters including the national debt, illegal immigration and local government.

In a letter sent to the Tea Party earlier this year Sheriff Jones took a strong stand on the national debt and the current debate on raising the debt ceiling. “In the past, our leaders have chosen to kick the can “the debt ceiling“ not down the road, but up the road. It appears, by all indications, they are going to kick it up the road for someone else to handle and fix,” stated Sheriff Jones.

Sheriff Jones wrote a letter to Governor Kasich regarding illegal immigration.

“I am asking you, in your leadership position as Governor of the State of Ohio, to work with the House of Representatives and to please address, initiate or support legislation that would focus on an end to the influx of illegals. Thereby allowing the United States citizens in the State of Ohio, to reclaim jobs that have been taken from them by the illegal alien population.”

Sheriff Jones’ speech will be followed by a question and answer session.
